Green Beauty Shop Spotlight | Indie Beauty Shop

In the past few years the green beauty movement has tremendously expanded. We're seeing it everywhere. New products and new shops seem to be popping up everywhere. As for a green beauty enthusiast... this is my utopia.

The Indie Beauty Shop is a company that you probably haven't heard of. They're a Canadian company that specializes in Canadian made, cruelty free, and natural beauty products. If that hasn't sparked your interested...their selection of products certainly will.

I know that most of your green beauty enthusiasts (myself included) love finding and trying out new products, so I highly recommend checking out Indie Beauty Shop for some new green beauty finds (you won't be disappointed!).

When the Indie Beauty Shop asked if I wanted to try out some of their products, I couldn't say no. Here's what I got to try:

Terra Tribe Milky Cleansing Balm: Cleansing balms are an absolute must have during the dry winter months (especially here in Canada). I'll admit though, aside from my love for cleansing balms, the beautiful packaging for this gem immediately caught my attention. This cleanser is potent and powerful; a little bit goes a long way while keeping your skin hydrated. What you'll notice is that your skin will feel silky smooth after using this, you may not even need a moisturizer! This is a perfect cleanser for dry/mature skins. It is made with coconut oil so if you are acne prone be a little cautious when using this product (coconut oil seems to affect everyone's skin a little differently). For only $22.95 I think that this is a fantastic product!

Paz & Lourdes Lip Gloss (1923 & 1929): Those who know me will know that I typically don't like lip gloss. I find it sticky, messy, and just not pleasant to wear. However, these ones blew me away. They have fantastic color pay off and they're not sticky (but they still stay put!). They also come with a great price tag at only $13.95. The best part about these glosses is that they're infused with organic shea butter. This keeps the lip gloss creamy while hydrating your lips. What more can I say? I'm totally head over heels for these products.

Indie Beauty Shop has a very unique, one of a kind store filled with fantastic green beauty brands! They're store consists of cosmetics, hair care, and even products for men. It's stores like these that make green beauty affordable and easy to transition to.

La Mav Organic Skin Science Review

La Mav is an Australian made, certified organic, and cruelty-free skincare line. All of their products are 100% plant based and provide anti-aging results. I've been testing out their products for a few weeks and am blown away by their formulations. La Mav is one of those brands that you wouldn't know is natural unless someone told you. This makes La Mav the perfect skincare range for people transitioning to green beauty or for anyone who's looking for well formulated, high performing products with a reasonable price.

Hydra-Calm Cleansing Creme*:
The Hydra-Calm Cleansing Creme is an extremely gentle, hydrating, and of course creamy cleanser. Right now this is a perfect cleanser for my extremely dry skin (due to harsh Canadian winters). It has a very faint scent of rose, which I love! It isn't too overpowering so it's perfect for those who are sensitive to strong scents. As for performance, this cleanser takers off majority of my makeup and leaves my skin feeling smooth and refreshed. After a few days using this I noticed the amount of redness in my skin reduced. At $26.95 for 100ml this is a fabulous value!

Anti Dark-Circle & Ultra-Firm Eye Gel*:
I'm always on the hunt for a good eye cream that will help with my dark circles and anything that helps with under-eye puffiness is a bonus! During the winter months my under-eyes are in extra need of some TLC. Thankfully the La Mav Anti-Dark Circle Eye Gel did the trick for me! I find that half a pump is plenty of product. I love this because it ensures that this product will last a good amount of time.

Anti-Aging Mineral Foundation with Broad Spectrum SPF15*:
I was immediately drawn to this product because it has SPF15.  I am a huge fan of mineral foundations because they provide excellent coverage (something that surprised me when I transitioned to green beauty products) and this product is no different. It offers medium-full coverage and is easily buildable. Mineral foundation usually isn't the best for my dry/combination skin during winter but this formulation didn't leave my skin looking dry. The performance is very comparable to the Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation.
